Helena Morrissey and the 30% Club

A chief executive of the Newton Investment Management company, a chair in the The Investment Association and a mother of nine children, Helena Morrissey is a very successful businesswoman who founded the 30% Club

The 30% Club was originally launched in Britain in 2010 by investment industry executive Helena Morrissey with a goal to boost the proportion of women on boards in the U.K. to 30 per cent by 2015. A study in 2009 showed that however hard any one company tried, there was little sign of a breakthrough and only 10–15% of senior roles were being filled by women. the 30% Club broke that rule, currently figures stand at 26.1%. which is a huge accomplishment.
The 30% Club believes that gender balance on boards not only encourages better leadership and governance, but diversity further contributes to better all-round board performance, and ultimately increased corporate performance for both companies and their shareholders.

The 30% Club spread to more than five countries across the world which have active chapters. recently in 2015 the GCC 'Gulf Cooperation Council' 30% Club chapter was established. it is a regional volunteer effort of multi-sector leaders working together towards better representation of women on boards and in senior level positions

The 30% Club continues to grow world wide and drive cross sector efforts to improve the female pipeline. To know more about the Club and what it do, please visit 30percentclub.org
